Orbit
Orbit is what happens when something leaves the atmosphere of a planetoid or other celestial body, but doesn’t break free of its gravity. This results in the object being pulled in a repeating path around the center of gravity below. The example of this that we are most familiar with is the moon, which has orbited the Earth for thousands of years.
Nowadays, there are other things in orbit too including satellites, the International Space Station, and the occasional shuttle. Interestingly, everything in orbit now will remain stuck there forever unless it is acted on by an outside force that pushes or pulls it free.
Depending on what you are orbiting around, it can feel a bit like being stuck too, especially in your professional career. While a well-known routine can be comfortable, it will not help you advance your career if you continue to repeat the same pattern year after year with no chance of moving forward.
