Hot Tub of Despair

One of the most dangerous lakes in the world, dubbed “The Hot Tub of Despair”, is actually found at the bottom of the ocean in the Gulf of Mexico. Also referred to as “The Jacuzzi of Death”, this brine pool is deadly to almost any creature that has the bad luck of falling into it.

Despite the implication of both nicknames, the water inside this natural phenomenon is not particularly warm unless compared to the temperature of the ocean surrounding it. What makes this underwater lake so deadly is the salt density, which has resulted in a dangerous concentration of hydrogen sulphide and methane gas.
While there are a few animals and bacteria that can survive the hostile elements, nearly any form of life that finds itself inside The Hot Tub of Despair will perish quickly and its remains will be mummified by the brine. Most divers and underwater explorers avoid this region at all costs due to the toxic environment.

In much the same way, good employees avoid organizations with bad company culture. Companies that wish to create a positive workplace are the ones that focus on the needs of their employees and on building a community centered around respect.
