A phenomenon is an event or reaction that can be witnessed occurring whose cause or explanation is not fully understood. Even as our understanding of science continues to grow, there are still many occurrences in the world around us that we cannot explain.

Some of the best-known examples of phenomenon are black holes, dark matter, pulsars, and nebulas. The list of phenomena that cannot yet be explained continues to grow as scientists learn more about the universe in which we live. It seems that every time one mystery is solved, two more rise to take its place.
