Seven Wonders
When we look back through ancient history, there are numerous achievements of architecture and engineering made even more impressive by the fact that the builders didn’t have access to modern technology. Some of these structures and feats of science make archeologists scratch their heads as they are techniques lost to us today.
Among the creations of the past, seven have been proclaimed The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. This list includes The Great Pyramid of Giza, The Hanging Gardens of Babylon, The Statue of Zeus at Olympia, The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus, The Colossus of Rhodes, and The Lighthouse of Alexandria. Each of these structures stood for centuries and was a pinnacle of its community.
The Wonders were chosen based on certain criteria including size, longevity, and craftmanship. These are also excellent standards by which to judge a company when you are looking for a job. The size will give you an idea of the company’s structure, the longevity will help you determine its stability, and the craftsmanship will allow you to glimpse the care and dedication of its leadership.
Unfortunately, not all companies are transparent about these details. This can lead to misinformation and/or misconceptions. One of the best ways to avoid this is by using a recruiter.
