An urban legend is modern day example of folklore. These myths often contain exaggerated stories of macabre events, supernatural beings, extraterrestrial encounters, cryptids, or other unexplainable occurrences.

Sometimes, there is a grain of truth in the stories, which suggests they were inspired by actual events. Others are clearly made up or exaggerated beyond recognition. The question is: how do we tell the difference between the two? Which stories were inspired by facts and which are a complete hoax? It can be hard to tell, but a close examination will often bring the truth to light.

Things like “they place as many people as quickly as they can to make as much money as possible”, “they don’t know anything about the industries they work in”, or “they let a computer review resumes and match candidates to opportunities”.
