Most of these occurred in the death zone, which is the name used for high altitude areas where there is not enough oxygen for humans to breathe. Due to the difficult terrain, many of the bodies of the deceased remain on the mountain, making it a rocky graveyard.

While opinions on climbing techniques differ, one thing that experts and seasoned climbers alike agree on is that you should never climb alone. While performing such a difficult feat, it is always better to have someone there to watch your back or give you a hand up.
