Halloween 1962

Supposedly inspired by a single, grainy photograph, the Halloween 1962 Massacre is an urban legend that has been retold many times and inspired several movies. The original story is pretty straightforward. At a small-town Halloween party, seven people were murdered, but the killer was never found.

There are certain small details that make the story even more chilling. First, the photo was taken with the alleged killer pictured in the center, wearing a black mask, yet no one who attended the party knew who he was. Second, from the time the killings started until the police arrived, all of the doors and windows were blocked from the inside. Finally, the mask from the photo was said to have been located by the police several miles down the road, but no other traces of the killer were ever found.

The supposed evidence of this ghost story points to a spectral killer who could walk through walls. However, all that ever really existed was the single photo with a man whose name no one could remember in the middle.
